He he. Wot Lilith said.

My cat came from a rescue centre. His name is Scruffy and he was rejected by two families because basically... he's scruffy (with a small 's'). Lots of long fur and dribbling. He needed surgery on his throat after a dog bite.

I walked into the Blue Cross on a bit of an impulse. Though I'd prepared myself I think they were canny enough to realise that I hadn't really planned it - I wanted to surprise the family.

Having walked passed cubicles of haughty looking felines I told them that I was looking for a Ginger Tom. They said they had just the cat for me. They took me into the kitchen and said "This one we don't keep in a cage. He's our special cat." The door flung open and in trotted Scruffy - a long haired tabby (OK - a streak of ginger down his spine.) He reached up my leg to say hello. It was love at first sight.

The selection process was more searching than a child adoption - each of us had to go and be interviewed. The house was inspected and we had to fill out a questionnaire. Worst of all - the cost. Around £150 quid.

Anyway. Scruffy is nicely esconsed at the Electro residence where he is spoiled rotten and enjoys lots of cuddles. Unlike most cats he really is very interested in us and keen to greet visitors.

To think that once upon a time I really couldn't abide cats.

Nice to hear you, Mermins. And your hands aren't rat like as you once told us !

HeHe, yes Monty does think he is a dog - but more often than not now he tends to watch me as I throw things and say 'fetch', then turns around, licks his paw and ignores me completely. EK - what a cute story! I bet Scruffy is very very happy!
